About Alex

Alex Augenbraun Bio
Two years ago, I drove to Chicago to cover the DNC as a freelance journalist, rubbing shoulders with AP reporters and Pulitzer Prize-winning photographers as history unfolded around me. While I absorb lessons from my professors in class, I put them into action in the field. Now, I’m officially the Vice President and Senior Editor at The Hunter Envoy, our school’s student newspaper.
I spent the fall of 2025 studying literature and German at Queen Mary University of London. I biked to 28 of the 32 borough town halls of Greater London.
I’ve freelanced for a few local papers, covering hard news, profiles, and opinion pieces. Last semester, I reported on the Israel/Palestine protests across New York City, and I continue to sharpen my journalistic writing and investigative skills.
Beyond journalism, I’ve interned for multiple local politicians. In high school, I spent my summers working in my congressman’s office, getting a firsthand look at the inner workings of U.S. politics.
I also lived on an organic farm in Hawaii for a summer.
